Could there be anything better than this? My son Jack, seven years old, asked me today what it feels like to be a mom. It's a difficult question to answer with just a few words - I told him exhausting and wonderful. It doesn't capture it really - each day is a combination of joy, fear, laundry detergent, homework, dishes, pirates swashbuckling in the backyard... I can't imagine a life without my children in it! This is love.
