December 7

“Into this wild abyss,
the womb of nature and perhaps her grave,
Of neither sea, nor shore, nor fire,
But all these in their pregnant causes mixed

Saw the Golden Compass movie last night - not going to take the little kids, but enjoyed it none the less. Lyra is a compelling character, a bit of a rebel, and perhaps it takes a little rebellion to be a hero that changes history. The books are supposed to be anti-religion, and that was clear in the movie, but I'm not sure he really captures anti-God. Religion is dead, but the truth will always lead to God. Anyway, it's a fantasy movie and I did enjoy it.

Peace. Susan
